Dirk den Dekker

A born technical autodidact, marketer, entrepreneur, product designer and inventor. Since 1966 founder, owner and CEO of several industrial companies. He was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He didn’t finish high school but joined the Fly Navy as a photographer in 1963 at the age of 16.

In the year 1966 he started his first industrial company, Denal N.V., a manufacturer of venetian blinds. In 1972 he entered the music industry and founded Algrammo B.V., a music records manufacturer, which company he sold to EMI in 1975. In the year 1975, at the age of 28, he entered the air cleaning business and founded the filter manufacturer Euromate B.V. (since 2010 named Plymovent). In 1982 he founded Industar B.V. welding fume extraction systems. He sold Industar to the Swedish company Nederman in 1989. In 1993 he invented the TackSmart filter identification system and founded Doctro AVV as the patent holding company. In 1998 he passed the patent rights to Tack Smart Filter Technology BV.

He was the CEO and 100% owner of Euromate for 23 years, till 1998. In 1998 he sold a majority interest in Euromate to Alpinvest (a Dutch investment company), Mr. Eduard de Haan and Mr. Cees Knijn. In the same year 1998 Mr. Eduard de Haan succeeded him as the CEO of Euromate. He sold the remainder of his shares in the Euromate company to Rabo Participaties BV, a subsidiary of the Dutch Rabobank. Since 1998 he lives as a cosmopolite in three countries, most of the time in Aruba (Dutch Caribbean) and on Mallorca (Spain) and also partly in the Netherlands. Since 1998 he is a senior advisor of Tack Smart Filter Technology BV.
